Backpack Buddies
The Backpack Buddies program is a cooperative effort between the faith-based community in Pasquotank County and the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County School System. Children are nominated by guidance counselors based on financial need. Each child in the program is provided with well-balanced food supplements for the weekend. We obtain food from the Food Bank, sort the food into plastic bags which are placed into tubs and delivered to each school. Cann Memorial Presbyterian and Blackwell Memorial Baptist work together serving approximately 34 children each week at Sheep Harney Elementary School.
Join us on the third Thursday of each month at 5:30pm
as we sort food at Blackwell Memorial Baptist.
S.O.U.L.S
Serving Others in Unity and Love is a cooperative effort among the churches in Pasquotank County to provide meals for the hungry. An evening meal is served at the old Elizabeth City Middle School Monday - Saturday at 5:30 pm. There are no requirements to receive a meal and no questions are asked of those who participate. You can help by donating prepared food, serving food or with a financial contribution.
Cann Memorial hosts the meal on the 4th Wednesday
of each month, serving between 50-75 people at each meal.
