Reverend Don Morris, Stated Supply Pastor
Don was born in Richmond, Virginia and lived outside Washington D.C. until he was twelve and then moved to Sanford, N.C. He graduated from Sanford Central H.S. and joined the Navy. In 1976 he met his wife Amy, who hails from the St. Loise area, when she came to visit her sister and brother-in-law while they were living in Charleston S.C. Don and Amy married that same yar and moved to Rota Spain where their first daughter was born.
Daughters 2 and 3, Lauren and Gwen, then followed while they were stationed in Raleigh N.C. After the Navy, Don worked at several places in the Raleigh area and went took college courses at night.
Not afraid of challenging work, Don answered God's call to join the ranks of the ministry in 2000 and attended Campbell University Divinity School. He graduated and was ordinated in in 2005 and has served as the senior pastor at three different churches and retired from full time ministry in 2020. Cann is grateful that he has returned to the pulpit at this time.
Amy uses her BS degree in accounting and has her CPA license working for the good of her community at nonprofit agencies. She currently works for the North Carolina Partnership for Children Inc.
They are fortunate to live close to all three girls and their grandchildren.
Rachel Gragson, Choir Director
Rachel Gragson has been making music in Elizabeth City for 50 years. Originally from Ohio, she came to teach music at Elizabeth City State University and made Elizabeth City her home. She has many years of experience as a church musician and joined the Cann family as Choir Director and Organist in 2014. She is also the resident accompanist for Music off Main. In her free time, she enjoys crossword puzzles, genealogy, and the antics of her 4 cats.
