Reverend Jeff Sockwell
Jeff grew up in McLeansville, NC on a family farm in what was then a rural area. He received his degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State University. He attended Columbia Theological seminary and graduated in 1992. While having the pleasure of serving multiple churches, he has always been active at the presbytery level, serving on various committees, in addition to previously serving as a part-time staff person in Technology and Communications. He currently serves on the Commission on Ministry for New Hope Presbytery.
He enjoys photography, kayaking, hiking, and is passionate about all things related to coffee. He and his wife enjoy taking walks and spending time with their energetic 2-year-old chocolate lab, Brigid.
Rachel Gragson, Choir Director and Organist
Rachel Gragson has been making music in Elizabeth City for 50 years. Originally from Ohio, she came to teach music at Elizabeth City State University and made Elizabeth City her home. She has many years of experience as a church musician and joined the Cann family as Choir Director and Organist in 2014. She is also the resident accompanist for Music off Main. In her free time, she enjoys crossword puzzles, genealogy, and the antics of her 4 cats.
