Rev. Elizabeth Whitmer, Pastor

Pastor Elizabeth has been the pastor of Cann Memorial Presbyterian Church since 2012. She holds a Master’s in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor’s of Education from Baylor University. Pastor Elizabeth hails from Texas though after being in North Carolina for almost 7 years, considers the Tar Heel State home. (Though BBQ will always be beef brisket in her heart!)

Pastor Elizabeth is passionate about creating creative opportunities for worship, to make meaningful connection of liturgy and music to every Sunday service. And to visually reflect the liturgy through artistic displays. Pastor Elizabeth holds a deep love for getting to know people and nurturing a congregation who recognizes one another as family who’s call is to be compassion and serve not only those in the church, but in our community as well. “You go nowhere by accident. Wherever you go, God is sending you, wherever you are, God has put you there. Christ who dwells within you, has something that he wants to do through you, this day and forever more.”

When not at church, Pastor Elizabeth enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Dave, her two dogs, Maple and Ella, and two cats, MooShoo and Jupiter. They like to cook, grill, garden, and binge watch TV series together.
